Soniashnyk Camp


The UNF’s Camp Soniashnyk children’s Day Camp is a program for children ages 6-10 that exposes them to their Ukrainian culture in a fun and interactive way. Each week of the camp which runs all across Canada in July-August is designed around a specific theme, and the campers are introduced to different aspects of the theme in a creative way each day. Everything from Varenyky making to Ivana Kupala traditions is included along with traditional dancing, singing, story telling as well as outdoor activities like sports and swimming.

About The Toronto Based Program

The Toronto Program has a weekly Ukrainian Theme designed to engage the children in various aspects of their culture & heritage. Our program is fully bi-lingual, and we focus our efforts on integrating all waves of immigration and language ability. In an and amongst the Ukrainian Cultural programs the children enjoy days in the park, at the supervised pool, as well as activities in the Gym, Library and Dance Studio.

Councillors are all trained in first aid and have a background in early childhood education, Ukrainian dance instruction or other Ukrainian scouting organization’s leadership roles.
